2012年1月由中国海洋大学海洋环境学院傅刚教授、张苏平教授、高山红教授和李鹏远博士（他们同时也是教育部物理海洋实验室成员）组成的海雾研究小组出版了海雾研究英文专著《Understanding of Sea Fog over the China Seas》，这部专著是继我国著名海雾研究专家王彬华教授于1983年出版的《海雾》专著后又一部海雾研究专著。【点击查看英文版】
该书集中收录了四位作者最近十多年在国际学术期刊上发表的12篇论文，是21世纪最初十年中国海洋大学海雾研究团队在监测和模拟中国海海雾、提高对海雾的认识水平方面取得的显著研究成果的集中总结。本书能为当前中国海海雾研究提供一个有益借鉴，也可以为工作在大气科学和物理海洋学领域对海雾有兴趣的研究人员和研究生提供一本有用的参考书。
海雾是悬浮在海上和沿岸地区上空大气边界层内的大量水滴使得大气水平能见度小于1公里的一种天气现象。由于与海雾相伴随的大气低能见度往往会导致交通事故，并对各种海上活动产生重要影响，因此海雾在沿海各国已受到广泛关注。
