Theme and Scope of the Symposium

The 5^th International Abalone Symposium will be held at Ocean University of China (renamed from Ocean University of Qingdao), Qingdao, China from 12^th to 17^th October  2003. As with previous symposia in these series, presentations dealing with the Biology, Fisheries and Aquaculture abalone are invited. Presentations addressing the practical implementation of scientific results are particularly encouraged and an effort will be made to include sessions that will interest fisheries managers, abalone aquaculturists, scientists, students, as well as businessmen.

A carefully selected panel of world-renowned experts in abalone biology, fisheries, aquaculture and marketing will address the symposium in a series of plenary and concurrent sessions. Comprehensive aspects relating to abalone worldwide will be discussed.
