Functional Differential Equation　(Presider: Professor Bingen Zhang)

　　The research of functional differential equation has lasted for thirty years in our department. Prof. Bingen Zhang is one of the first people who engaged this field in China. He recruited graduates of this field from 1983. Now he gained plentiful and substantial fruits. He has published more than 190 papers and 5 monographs, more than 60 of which are embodied by SCI. Many times he is invited to give lectures in international conferences. His research in oscillation of differential equation keeps ahead in the International. In 1997, Science Aviso invite Prof. Zhang to give the monograph---The Development of Functional Differential Equation Oscillation Theory. He takes on many national natural fund projects and earns many national and provincial awards. In 2000, he earned China Advanced School Scientific Technical Award and Scientific Technical Progressive Award in Shandong province. He instructs graduates from 1983 and in 1999 he is authorized to be the top-notch expert in Shandong province. Now he is presiding national natural fund project---Qualitative Analysis of Time Lag Difference Equation.

Information & Computational Science　(Presider: Professor Xinguo Liu)

　　Now nine teachers make research in this field, among whom there is one professor, two adjunct professors and 6 instructors. They have taken two national natural scientific fund projects, (1.Multi-parameter General Eigenvalue Problem (1994.4~1996.12); 2. large-scale Hamilton Matrix Bundle General Eigenvalue Problem (1999.1~2000.12)), two provincial natural fund projects and one Science and Engineer National Emphatic Lab project. (The problem of Matrix Computation in Multivariate Statistics (1997.1~1997.12)) They have issued more than 100 papers, published 1 monographs and 1 teaching material. Prof. Xinguo Liu are award as the Provincial Excellent Teacher. He also earned two Scientific Progressive Awards of Educational Administration in Shandong province and one National Advanced School Young Teacher Award issued by Huo Yingdong Education Association in 1993.

Fuzzy Mathematics　(Presider: Prof. Wenbin Liu Prof. Jinming Fang)

　　The research in this field of our department is in the high flight in our nation. Prof. Wenbin Liu is the editor of Fuzzy System and Mathematics, the syndic of Chinese Fuzzy Mathematics Communion Academy and Chinese Industry and Applied Mathematics Academy, associate director of Shangdong province, associate director of Qingdao Mathematical Academy. Prof. Jinming Fang is the second group Presider of young and engineering science. Now six teachers in our department make research in this field, among whom there is three professor, two adjunct professors and one instructor. They have many achievements in Fuzzy Algebra, Fuzzy Mathematical Model and Topology on Lattice. Nearly ninety papers are issued, many of which are embodied by SCI and take part in more than 10 fund projects. They also do much research in application of theory involved with aquaculture, geology, economy etc and have systematic theory and fruits in the establishment of mathematical model. During their research, they have cultivated sixteen graduates and one doctor (associate instructor).
