The third Sino-German Summer School entitled “Processes in Coastal Zones” was held in Buesum, Germany from July 22 to August 3, 2007. Eight professors and six postgraduates from Germany, as well as nine teachers, 15 Ph.D. students and postgraduates from OUC attended to this Summer School. During the 12-day event, professors from both sides organized 16 academic reports and four academic visits concerning various fields such as Physical Oceanography, Marine Meteorology, Marine Geology, Marine Biology and Aquaculture. With their extensive knowledge, and advanced teaching methods which combined theories with practice, students benefited a lot from their professors. Moreover, during the Summer School, professors from two countries launched discussion about teaching modes and science and research cooperation.
