We currently have Ph.D. student research projects available in Ocean Engineering focusing on deepwater risers/floating structures. The successful candidate will be enrolled in Shandong Key Laboratory of Ocean Engineering, that host Ph.D. students involved in many aspects of riser/floater dynamics- from vortex induced vibration to fluid-structure interaction. The principal mission is to conduct national, regional, and international science and technology projects in the areas of ocean and atmosphere remote sensing, geographical information system, and virtual reality. The visiting scholar will involve in all aspects of the study in the MIT lab. The group will provide an excellent and challenging research environment on all levels.

He /she is expected to speak and write fluent English. He/she will involve in researches of sea fog, or rapidly-developed cyclones (polar low), or Asian monsoon, or long-term climate variations, or large-scale ocean-atmosphere interaction and so on. Dept. of Marine Meteorology at OUC will provide an excellent and challenging research environment, with many international scientists on all levels.

Research projects in Geophysical exploration methods and information technology

Ph.D. student research projects available in Environmental Science. The successful candidate will be enrolled in The Key Laboratory of Marine Environment and Ecology (Ocean University of China), Ministry of Education, and undertake research works on water resource planning and pollution control engineering, geological environmental quality surveying and pollution prediction, and in situ remediation of polluted soil. The successful Ph.D candidate will be enrolled in one of the following research specialties: (1) ocean remote sensing; (2) ocean optics and laser detection; (3) marine acoustics; (4) marine information systems.

He /she is expected to speak and write fluent English. He/she will involve in researches of upper layer ocean dynamics, ocean general circulation, coastal dynamics, large-scale ocean-atmosphere interaction and climate and so on. Ph.D. student research projects are available in gas, gasoline and diesel purification. The successful candidates will be enrolled in the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, that host Ph.D. students and post-docs interested in research projects in gas cleaning, gasoline and diesel sulfur removal, and flue gas desulfurization. The gas, gasoline and diesel purification laboratory provides modern instruments and an excellent environment to carry out research.

Ph.D. student research projects are available in marine organic Geochemistry. The successful candidates will be enrolled in the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering/Institute of Marine Organic Geochemistry , that host Ph.D. students and post-docs interested in research projects in paleooceanography and paleo-ecology, organic geochemistry of cold seeps, stable isotope geochemistry. The Institute of Marine Organic Geochemistry provides modern instruments and an excellent environment to carry out research.
