MEMBERSHIP

Article 4

Any marine-related institution is entitled to join the Association.

Article 5

There are two categories of membership of the Association: Administrative Board membership and scientific membership.

Administrative Board members are selected on the principle of “One country, one administrative board member”. The scientific members may come from any marine-related institution in any country.

Article 6

Membership of the Association shall be granted or withdrawn by the Administrative Board on the basis of a simple majority of its vote.

Article 7

Every member shall appoint a correspondent and one alternate to be responsible for relations with the Association. All communications may be validly addressed to this correspondent.

Article 8

Members may resign from the Association after giving six months' notice of intention in written form to do so.
