• Ocean University of China is one of the major organizations, which undertake most of national research projects in Oceangraphy and Fisheries.

• Ocean University of China has been awarded national prizes in oceanography and fisheries, which account for over 30 percent of the total national prizes in the same field. Among the eight Marine Science Awards in National Natural Sciences, five of them were won by OUC.

• In China, almost all of the monographs on marine science have been written by the faculty members of Ocean University of China.

• The number of research papers published by the faculty members of Ocean University of China in the journal Chinese Science accounts for over 33 percent of the treatises in the same field.

• The treatises published by Ocean University of China in the world-famous academic journal “JPO” account for more than half of the total publications by scientists from the Chinese Mainland.

• Ocean University of China has undertaken a large number of research papers and made great contributions to the construction of “Marine-based Economy of Shandong Province”. Such projects as sea-water aquaculture were conducted by OUC.

Up to date, Ocean University of China has been ranked No.8 in terms of the number of prizes won for Science and Technology Advancement awarded by the Ministry of Education.
