The College of Material Science and Engineering was founded in September 2002. Among the faulty members are one Cheung Kong Scholar, one OUC Leading Scientist, and one winner of the “First Award for Outstanding University Teachers” in Shandong Province. With six professors and two Ph.D. supervisors as well as 18 advisors for Master’s Degree students, the College houses a key laboratory for special marine materials supported by Shandong Provincial Government and an Engineering Research Center of Marine Material and Defending under the Ministry of Education. The College also offers two undergraduate programs, two Master’s Degree programs in physics and chemistry of materials and material sciences, and one doctoral program in special marine materials.
