Ocean University of China is one of the first institutions of higher learning entitled by the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee under the State Council to confer Doctoral and Master’s degrees. The university now has more than 2900 candidates for Master’s or Doctoral degrees, over 1800 teachers, researchers and lab technicians, among them there are 28 professors, 373 associate professors, 2 academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 3 academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, 150 Ph..D. supervisors. 7 post-doctoral mobile stations 30 programs for Doctoral degree 76 programs for Master’s degree 6 specialities entitled to confer Doctoral degree 9 disciplinary areas for Master’s programs in engineering 5 national key disciplines at the university level under the Ministry of Education Chinese Center of State Biotechnology which is under the administration of UNESCO A Research Center of State Marine Pharmaceutical Engineering Technology 3 key State laboratories 9 key laboratories and 9 disciplines on Provincial or Ministerial level OUC also offers the posts of professorship of Chueng Kong Scholars Programs in 6 disciplines such as Physical Oceanography, Environmental Oceanography, Marine Drugs, Marine Biology, Aquaculture and Ocean Remote Sensing.

International Programs

After more than 80 years of development, Ocean University of China has made great achievements in international cooperation and exchanges. In multiple forms, through various channels and at different levels, the University now has established exchange and cooperative relationship with 120 universities and scientific research institutions from more than 30 countries and regions including those in the U.S.A., the U.K., Germany, France, Russia, Canada, Australia, Korea and Japan, etc. Moreover, OUC is now participating in 65 international joint research programs.
